SC Millenium Review of (4)Submergance:

Map Name: Submergance
Map Size: 128x128
Map Tileset: Twilight Terrain
Maximum Amount of Players: 4
Download: Made by SpaceDominator Download

General Description:

This map is congruent and it was well done. If you don't take control of the middle resources in the beginning of the game (and keep hold of them) your done. I also like how the 4 different starting points were separated by giant ridges.

Good Points:

  • They were a lot of ridges so that you could set-up a nice position to attack and defend against the enemy. Also another great thing was that you can't build on the ridges.. so the protoss couldn't send an probe up there and make 100 cannons.
  • There weren't a lot of minerals so if you were looking for a good quick game this is a great map for you.
  • The map was mainly set-up for air assualt. There is enough room for a ground assualt but not a lot (There is enough though).
Bad Points:

  • Clustered together. If you would build on some parts of the ridge it would be great but this map I guess was intended for small attacks.
  • If you didn't have the ridges or the middle areas you were done (but if you have the ridges your in a great position read general strategy below).
General Strategies:

This map is great for terran. Protoss and Zerg will have a little trouble here...

2 parts for this:

(a)Build a defense quick and take over the middle areas. Attack with a well balanced force shouldn't be too hard.

(b)If you didn't take over the middle areas (and your terran) build seige tanks(2), dropships (2), and marines(8). Take the 2 dropships and fill them with the marines and tanks. Take the tanks and place them on the ridge. Put them in seige mode and let them fire and burn up the town. The defending town will send dropships. This is where the marines come in handy (a medic might be needed). While doing this build wraiths. Send the wraiths in to protect tanks. Keep moving up until town is destroyed. Works well.

Conclusion:

A pretty good map. I would atleast play it once. It had a lot of good points as well as bad... but this map deserves a 6/10.

Final Opinion: 6 of 10
